Motivating your Team Members

Getting ready to start your fundraiser? Worried about motivating your team members? Don’t, I am here to help with some useful tips and motivational tools.

Fundraising is a very rewarding experience that teaches us many valuable lessons. The importance of teamwork, realizing that you must work hard for what you want, stronger communication skills, encourages creativity and teaches us the importance of community and charity. Whether you are working towards a new piece of playground equipment or planting a community garden interacting and motivating with your team is important.

Stay positive! When you smile the whole world smiles with you. Fundraising can be a very busy time and sometimes the majority of the work involved can fall on one or two members. Keep your team engaged by sharing information such as how much you have raised, all the great things you will be able to do with the money you raise and how far away from your goal you are.

Having a Fundraiser kick off can get your team going in the right direction. Have some competitions along the way to keep the adrenaline pumping. For instance the first person to sell $100.00 or more will win a prize. You can set your own prize limits and at the same time, give your team motivation to do the best they can.

Hold a mid point team building session to catch everyone up. It doesn’t have to be a long session, but an hour with a quick catch up, maybe some munchies or treats and a quick team building game so everyone will have some fun.

The name of the game in motivation is keeping everyone engaged in the task at hand. It is easy to let the ball drop so someone else can pick it up. Keep that ball bouncing with imagination and ingenuity!

So let’s get your fundraiser going. You will be amazed at what you and your team can do. Flower Power Fundraising is there with you every step of the way! Happy Fundraising.
