It doesn’t matter how big or small the mountain you conquered is, the important thing is you conquered it!
We have all had that satisfying feeling of accomplishment at one time or another. Whether you closed a huge deal at work or you simply finally got that last piece of the puzzle in place. The fact of the matter is “You Did It”. You didn’t give up and you pushed on right up until the end.
Take time to celebrate your accomplishments and how far you have come. Don’t focus on what you have left to do but on all you have done. As another year draws to an end, just think of what may be in the next year. Make a plan to do something you always wanted to do or were afraid to do. Start small and see where that takes you. You will see that your self confidence and perseverance will build and allow you to shoot for the stars!
As you say good-bye to this year and venture into the next be willing to go where it takes you. Sometimes the unknown can be scary, but when faced head on it will usually turn out to be not nearly as scary as you thought. Once again you will experience that wonderful feeling of accomplishment.
Many famous people throughout time had no idea how their accomplishments would shape the future. Do you think that Navy engineer Richard James every thought that while he was trying to figure out how to use springs to keep the sensitive instruments aboard ships from rocking themselves to death, that the “SLINKY” would be born. He knocked one of his prototypes over and instead of crashing to the floor, it gracefully sprang downward, and then righted itself. So pointless — so nimble — so slinky. The spring became a goofy toy of many childhoods—that is before every kid inevitably gets theirs all twisted up and ruins it. 300 million sold worldwide!
Never give up, you never know what the outcome might be!
Compare yourself only to yourself.
