You did it!
You took the first step and you’ve decided!

You are going to run a fundraiser this school year.

You know it is one of the most satisfying, worthwhile projects a school community can undertake, but ahead you can see the mountain you’ll have to climb, and the finish line seems to recede everyday. Raising funds to support your school is no easy feat. You need to get everyone on board and motivate them until the very last minute of your campaign.

Breathe!
Believe it or not, you’ve probably already made decisions about the toughest part of fundraising, without even realizing: the “PAP”!
The Project(s) the money you’ll raise will go towards,
the Amount of money these project(s) will require,
the Product you’ll fundraise with.
Now what? Well, a successful fundraiser relies on a lot of motivated people joining you by purchasing what you are offering. It’s all about awareness; it’s time to spread the news, which is a key to your fundraising success.

Here are our tips to spread the news about your school fundraiser:

1. Make a team member list. A list of reliable people you can count on to drive this effort.

2. Get your team members to enlist the efforts of their friends, parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles, friends and co-workers anyone with a stake in the schools success. Just like that, you now have a solid foundation from which you can build your most successful fundraiser ever.

3. Create a platform, a web site for your campaign. One of the easiest and fastest ways to raise money is through a website your supporters can order from regardless of where they live. You’re in luck if you are raising money using Flower Power Fundraising; we’ve done the work for you.

With Flower Power Fundraising, you can customize a landing page for your campaign. Here, you can upload a photo of your group, set a fundraising goal and add a personalized note telling people what projects you are fundraising for.

4. Send emails that deliver the details of your fundraiser. Flower Power Fundraising also allows you that advantage. All you have to do is enter the email addresses of your groups team members; the content of your email comes ‘ready to send’, but you can also customize it. Reminders get sent for you periodically. The more addresses you enter the more successful your campaign will become. This comes in handy during the colder months, when it’s difficult to go door to door.

4. Disseminate information about the campaign at school. Broadcast your campaign. You can begin those efforts by putting up notices on bulletin boards throughout the school hallways. Include details in the schools newsletter. Mention your fundraiser during school PA announcements. Post information on your school website to let everyone know about your fundraiser. It is a great idea to update your supporters during important stages of the campaign. ie. when you reach certain money goals or are getting close to the end date.

5. Let social media do some work too. Use the many social platforms readily available and spread awareness about your campaign. Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are great places to start. Try creating a little video to get your message out there.

6. Why not let local newspapers know about your campaign. They will want to support you, because supporting the school is supporting the community.
Look up the newspapers in your area then send them a press release about your cause, and why you are raising money for your school. Make it short and sweet. Check if they have online community news sections where you can post.

And this is it!
Once you’ve you’ve exhausted these options, now it’s time to have yourself a great fundraiser. Relax, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. They’ve never tasted so sweet.
